Imagined cities
Imagined worlds
Both an urban landscape, and a plan for the future all at once.

‘Grids,’ extends Coulter’s exploration of the grid as a conceptual device in painting, referencing its historical role as an organisational device. Utilising deconstructed drawings, Coulter creates imagined compositions, reconstructing scenes of abstract worlds. Her works explore the boundaries between painting, architecture and technology, and whilst questioning their fixed hierarchical values.
